Western Papua: Escape from Baliem Valley → Baliem Valley, sometimes known as the Grand Valley
Located in the central highland of Western New Guinea, the Baliem River flows about 1800 m. above the sea level, and is surrounded by a crest of mountains, some of which may reach up to the height of 4500 m. The river valley (Baliem Valley) – 60 km. in length and 30 km. in width, is the hub of natural beauty.
